It's been a while!

It's been a while now since I last did an entry for this blog, I guess the only explanation is the fact I am probably well engrossed in the new drawing I have undertaken. I know I keep on about it but I guess it won't go away until I've done it, the picture of Charlie. He is such a popular guy with so many fans all over the globe he could without doubt start his own fan club.
The trouble with drawing chimps is that they are so time consuming and I have come to believe that Charlie has more detail in his weather beaten face than all the chimps in Africa put together. I will keep you all posted of its progress but I think it's gonna be a while as its a big picture with a lot of detail.
Something else that has been on my mind of late is having a good enough library of music to keep me going, I do like to listen to a lot of music turned up very loud when I am immersed in a picture. A question I am frequently asked is what music do I listen to whilst I am drawing. It is an almost impossible question to answer unless I reply with 'I am currently listening to........', as my taste changes so often. On the whole I prefer classical music, particularly from the likes of Bach and Mozart. My favorites are from the new wave of classical composers like Michael Nyman and the French artist Yann Tiersen, anyone who is even slightly intrigued should give them a try you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.
It is ironic that I am currently listening to the marvelous music of film score composer James Newton Howard, I say Ironic as the current cd in the tray is King Kong, and I have just been commissioned to draw a gorilla (that's if I ever finish Charlie).
