Wildlife Sketches for Rainforest Protection
Rainforest Concern is pleased to work with Wildlife Sketches, who is now donating 10% of all the sales revenue from David Dancey-Wood's sketches to Rainforest Concern.
Rainforest Concern is saving the world's rainforest while there is still time. Established as a registered charity in 1993, we protect threatened natural habitats; particularly rainforests, the biodiversity they contain and the indigenous people who still depend on them for their survival. Lack of protection often leads to deforestation, releasing carbon dioxide, threatening biodiversity, and affecting the very processes which supply humans, animals
and plants with breathable air, clean water and fertile soil. Rainforest Concern protects areas of rainforest and has 18 conservation projects in 11 countries: Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Suriname, Costa Rica, Panama, India, Sri Lanka and Uganda.
Our Acre Sponsorship programme refers to our main Choco-Andean Corridor project in Ecuador and Columbia, where we are focusing our efforts on a continuous rainforest to create a vital link between the cloud forests of the Andes and the lowland forests of the Choco region. The forests lie between two global biodiversity hotspots and contain a wealth of habitats, ecosystems and wildlife, with many species yet to be discovered.
In order for the corridor to be successful in the long term we also work closely with local communities encouraging sustainable forms of income generation, which take the emphasis away from the destructive slash and burn agriculture.

By visiting the informative and much respected website of Rainforest Concern it is likely you too have an interest in conserving the rainforests and the eco-system they fuel. As a fine-artist and conservationist, David Dancey-Wood harbors similar interests and concerns and his passion for these is exuded in his wildlife art. He shares his passion with us through the medium of papyrus and graphite. His pencil sketch art is quite exquisite, managing to bring to life his wildlife subjects and their distinctive traits and nuances as only David’s unique skill and deeply held passion for wildlife can.
At Wildlife Sketches, you can view David’s catalogue of art and should you decide upon a purchase, 10% of all proceeds are automatically donated to Rainforest Concern. David’s originals or limited edition prints are available, so why not visit and enjoy a very special purchase whilst continuing to help the natural environment around us provide a home for our children.
