Frogs

The answer to the question of whether I am to release the picture of the frog is yes. The picture has just been released together with a partner print, both come together and are entitled 'Jungle Jewels'.
The frogs in the pictures are both Poison Arrow frogs (Dendrobates), both are from reference taken from my travels in Central and South America. Although these tiny animals are both beautiful colours I still thought they were worth reproducing in black and white as they are such stunning creatures.
When in search of one of these frogs in particular I remember the situation still to this day with great clarity. I asked a local guide in Costa Rica if he knew where I could see this certain species of frog as I was very interested to see one. He replied he knew exactly where it lived and could take me to see it that very day. We trekked for approx 6 hours through the jungle where amazingly he pinpointed to the nearest metre exactly where these frogs would be. I am still in awe of this today and how this guides expertise allowed him to remember this so accurately  to where this amphibians territory started and finished. I must add that once I started taking photographs he was a slightly troubled and asked me to stop as the flash was scaring them. This was fair enough and I can admire him even more that he cares with such intensity for his countries environment.
