A Snow Bear.

I found this photo on a twitter link

It's so good I had to post it here for everyone.

A Snow Bear.

This is brilliant!

I know everyone will appreciate this image, given the weather we're having at the moment

But, it reminds me of one of David's drawing too:

Loved the polar bear photo. Brought a smile to my face in the current weather. Also enjoyed seeing David's excellent drawing. Not only is the bear brilliant but the rocky ledge is superbly drawn. Yet again David's ability to accurately depict the habitat makes his work special.

The Snow Bear photo cheered me up too, and it was great vision by the photographer.

I think you'll find that 'Snow Bear' is actullly a REAL bear. Latin name 'Polarus Snowbarus'. I'm shocked that people who profess to be 'experts in the field', have been taken in by something so obviously basic.

I'm just off to pour another scotch and I'll tell you more about it later.

Oh yeah! So it is. Someone else told me that they make Whisky with real Bells, is that right?

Thank you wildlife sketches.I've been studying Polar Bears and their way of life for over forty years now, and I'm a recognised expert in the field.

Their are many myths about the bears that I would like to bring to peoples attention. Firstly, contrary to popular opinion, Polar Bears are in fact strictly vegetarian, surviving on a diet of kelp, seaweed and pine-cones.

In tropical areas such as The Amazon and Southern Africa, they feed on pampas grass and tinned pineapples.

Another unfair belief about Polar Bears is that they pose a danger to humans. This is completely false. They make wonderful pets and children should be encouraged to interact and play with them.

My daughter's Polar Bear, Bonzo, sleeps at the bottom of her bed. I do hope I have added to everyone's enjoyment and knowledge of the subject. Simon

Thank you Professor Simon, your research has revealed many hitherto unknown insights about the Tropical Polar Bears. I am sure they will lead to a surge in applictions to study at The University of Glenfiddich.

Although I have total confidence in your scientific research, I would like to suggest that people refrain from keeping Bears as Pets, ANY BEARS!

Except, Teddy Bears of course, until more research (From a very large number of unrelated sources) is completed, checked, re-checked, and verified by very, very many sober wildlife experts and wildlife wellfare experts in this intriguing field.

www.wildlife-sketches.com does not agree with, recommend or condone keeping Bears (other than Teddy Bears) as pets.

      Happy Christmas,

      Vince.

How correct you are Wildlife Sketches. And your comment on the University of Glenfiddich was hilarious !

On a serious note, about two years ago we held an exhibition and sale of David's illustrations and Limited Editions. At the entrance to the event we had the original of 'Arctic Dreams' on display. It looked utterly magnificent.

Little wonder the Limited Edition has proved so popular, and an hour into our event we had completely sold out.
